What is a pressurized wall?
A pressurized wall is a wall that looks and functions the same way as a standard wall, but is installed with precision sizing and pressure instead of screws. Pressurized walls work well when a building’s codes don’t allow damage to the existing structure, since they can be removed at any point without leaving marks behind. A pressurized wall also works as a temporary divider for a showroom or exhibit space.
Does my building allow pressurized walls?
New York City has no single building-code rule for pressurized walls, so it depends on your building. If you’re not sure whether yours allows one, call us and we’ll help you check. If your building doesn’t allow a floor-to-ceiling install, we offer freestanding walls and bookcase walls, which meet stricter codes while still giving you a real divided space.
What will the wall look like?
Your pressurized wall looks like any other wall in your apartment. New visitors won’t be able to tell which wall is temporary. You can paint it, decorate it, and hang items on it — up to 30 pounds.
What happens to the wall if I move or no longer need it?
We’ll remove your temporary wall whenever you’re ready. Removal is quoted at the site measure, since the cost depends on the wall’s size and configuration. Your space is restored to its original dimensions, with no marks or damage from the wall.
How much notice do I need to give to remove the wall?
We require 30 days’ notice to remove your pressurized wall, and removal appointments are scheduled for Mondays. If your 30-day notice period ends on a day other than Monday, we’ll remove the wall on the next available Monday. Contact us as early as possible to lock in your preferred date.
